    Hyderabad to Rameswaram/Kanyakumari/Madurai

    Hi Sourav, I would recommend you to do the same plan taking the NAM expressway as you can actually cover up many places enroute Rameshwaram. Day - 1: Hyderabad - Ongole (Check out Kavali beach) - Nellore - Pulicat lake (India's 2nd largest fresh water lake after Chilika lake) or Chennai Day - 2: Pulicat lake or Chennai - Mahabalipuram (Checkout historic temples on the beachside as you can stop by for breakfast) - Pondicherry (Check out Pichavaram Mangrove forests enroute) - Rameshwaram Rest of the days can be done as per your plan. You can as well do this as a whole circuit by driving back to Hyderabad via Bangalore.

    RoadTrip - Srisailam--> Mahanandi--> Ahobilam-->Hyderabad

    I would suggest this plan Day 1 - Hyderabad to Srisailam (on the way mallela theertham) Day 2 - Start to Mahanandi as there isn't much around Srisailam and cover Mahanandi with overnight stay at APTDC / Haritha Mahanandi Day 3 - Start to Ahobhilam early morning, reach there finish off darshan's at both diguva and eguva Ahobilam and trek to old temple post lunch, return back to stay (try to book APTDC / Haritha Ahobilam)? Day 4 - Ahobhilam -- Hyderabad via Bangalore Highway
  12. I feel Ahobilam deserves an overnight stay .. A short trek into the forest is the best at this place. But make sure of your accommodation being booked in advance if you are travelling to Ahobilam as there are limited options. Drive safe and Keep revving!

    55th Birthday Drive -Hyderabad to Mahabaleshwar

    Sir This one needs a separate thread in my opinion - such wonderful captures and information - having separate thread for this travelogue might be helpful for many. Seriously those old temples and their architecture is marvelous....Somehow i feel MBNR district has that raw look and places always bring on some Nostalgic memories or take us to the era of those times...Once again Thanks for sharing those snaps sir ,
  15. One of the biggest problems is accommodation. Make sure you prebook the accommodations. It will be tight in both Srisailam and Ahobilam . Expect over crowd in all the locations. Day 1 : Hyderabad to Srisailam Start early in the morning. You will reach by 11 AM. Complete the rituals. Explore around. You need to take lot of steps to visit Mallelatheertham. I feel that one day is good enough for Srisailam. Day 2 : Explore around Srisailam. Drive down to Mahanandi temple. Plan stopover at Ahobhilam. Day 3: Take a guide and go on the Ahobilam forest trek. It is beautiful during monsoon. Day 4: Drive back to Hyderabad via Bangalore highway. Based on accommodation availability you can change the plan. Roads are good, you wont feel them hectic since the distance is less. Single lane roads. Not suitable for high speed cruising. Return drive will be easy, since you will the Bangalore highway. You can cut short the trip to three days, go on a short trek in Ahobilam and drive back on the same day.

  18. Plan Day 2 : Pune(Lonavala) to Tamhini and Mulshi Breakfast: We will start at 7AM from the accommodation. If you can't wait till 9AM~10AM for breakfast (like me) , Carry few quick bites. Breakfast is planned around 9AM~10AM The drive from 7AM to 10AM is around 50 kilometres. But it will take ~2 hours + since the routes that we are taking are scenic/less crowded (roads are bad) If there are any road closures, we will be taking alternative routes, we may take more time to reach the breakfast point. You wont find any signals on this route. You have to download the offline google maps. We will share those details in the WhatsApp group. Trek After the breakfast, We will go on a 120 minutes trek to a waterfall( name unknown). Proper permissions are taken from the officials. Trek Difficulty level : Easy (We made sure that everyone can do it comfortably) Post trek, we will be having be having lunch around 2~3PM. Things to carry for trek: Rain coats/Umbrellas Comfortable attire for the trek Shoes Water bottles Energy bars Extra pair of clothes A backpack/bag to carry your stuff Lunch Lunch will be arranged post trek, along with a room for attire changeover. Post Lunch We will visit few places around the area and drive back to the Accommodation.
  19. Plan Day 1 : Hyderabad to Pune (Lonavala) Total kilometres : ~ 600 Drive time : 11 hours We will be dividing the convoy into two groups. Based on the pace at which members are comfortable. Most of the toll gates stopovers can be used for quick breaks and regroup points. Section:1 Meet-up Point : Hyderabad ORR, Mumbai highway exit. Meet-up time : 5:00 AM Meet-up landmark : Hyderabad Delight Restaurant We will be starting at sharp 5:20 AM from the point. Make sure you reach the point on time. Reset the trip meter of the car before you start from the meetup point, so that it will be easy to find each other easily. Google maps location details of meetup point : LINK Section:2 Meet-up Point to Breakfast point Breakfast expected time : 8~9AM Hotel options : ( We will stop over in either of the hotel depending on time) Punjabi Dhami Hotel Hotel Sonai Restaurant And Food Mall Section :3 Breakfast point to lunch point This is the longest section, we cover around 240 kilometres We will fuel up once we cross Solapur Lunch expected time: 2PM~3PM Hotel options : Nisarg Family Restuarent Veg Hotel Shivar non-veg We can stop over at other hotels as well, since we have plenty of options on this section. Depending on timeline we can decide the place Section: 4 Lunch point to Tea break ( before Pune) We will be stopping for a tea break, before entering the Pune City. Random stopover at a decent dhaba with washrooms Section : 5 Tea point to Accommodation/Dinner point based on our progress. We will take highway 48, to avoid Pune traffic We will regroup just before the entrance of expressway. We will be driving around 50 kilometres on Pune-Mumbai expressway. There won't be any stopovers on this sections. Regroup/bio break point/quick snack point : LINK Accommodation exit point : Link A complete plan with GPS details will be shared in the WhatsApp group a day before the drive.
  20. @Shekar What a wonderful road trip, and what a beautiful birthday gift one can give to self. That cake cutting in rain (though a bit risky) was icing on cake. Appreciate for the idea and also to your travel enthusiasm. Thanks for sharing.

    55th Birthday Drive -Hyderabad to Mahabaleshwar

    Thank you @travel.rtc and @sagar and all others for liking. I would like add few places I had visited during my 50th Birthday in previous Mahabubnagar Dist for information as they are less known places close to Hyderabad. I had celebrated my 50th Birthday at Srisailam and stayed at Forest Guest House of TS at Domalapenta which was at a beautiful location. After Darshan we stayed at this place and started early morning as soon as the road was open and reached Kollapur Mahabubnagar dist at Breakfast time We had visited Madhava Swamy Temple which was relocated from Srisailam back waters and Surabhi Palace or Kollapur Palace. From here we went to Somasila which is close by and visited Someswara Temple complex. These temples were are also relocated from Dam area. From Somasila We went to Jetprole and visited another beautiful temple of Venugopala Swamy which was also relocated. Nearby are another set of 20 small temples relocated from Srisailam. Present haritha is near by these temples. Our last place of visit on the day was Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple at Srirangapur. From Here we entered Bangalore - Hyderabad NH at Pebbair. We had spent a day at Srisailam after late start from Hyderabad Second day we had visited all the above places and reached home late in the evening. Roads from Munnanur to Kollapur was 2 lane good (Very old data). To Somasila it was single road with little damages. To Jetprole also single road good. To Srirangapur two lane good. To Pebbair two lane good. Food options were almost Nil

    Hyderabad to Goa

    The prices of this is so because of off-season. During the month of November, December and January the prices of the gearless are around 700 to 800 after bargain and bikes like Royal Enfield and given for 1200 - 1500 INR.. Also, you can rent a car for around 1500 bucks per day during the off-season.

    Hyderabad to Goa

    Thanks and this was Done in March April - Even though it was start of seummer - i could see many tourists around Goa - Stay was near Candolim Beach - Hence covered : Candolim Beach , Sinquerim Beach , Baga Beach , Miramir Beach - Here went for Dolphin spotting and waste it was But cruise was wonderful and they have shown that Jail and clock tower and we were not in a mood to get down from the boat and go till there - 400 Rs was charged for the boat ride and safety jackets would be given . You can rent a Bike/Activa kind - 300Rs was rent for one day but they would ask you to return by Morning time itself - Hence Plan to take it in morning . Goa can be best enjoyed By Bike itself due to Narrow roads . No Need to give Driving License - Being commuted in Bus I haven't carried License and I rented a Bike with my Election Identity Card also .They would give some fuel and we can purchase with them further fuel. If we are travelling by flight then be planned to reach Airport well Before as Road to Airport from North Goa is little Narrow and later gets traffic Speed Guns are Present and hence cabs cannot cruise above 80 kmph which could delay reaching Airport
