Take the following route for south Goa.

Hyderabad --> Raichur -->Sindhanur  --> Gangavathi --> Hubbali --> Dharward --> Mollem --> South goa

Little long but roads are much better than Bagalkot route.

What time you are planning to start?

The above mentioned route would be perfect for your travel. Less stressful amongst the 2. Make sure you start off early around 4 AM to escape the traffic.

Caution: Watch out for the sudden speed breakers after entering Karnataka.

Perfect time to start.
Make sure you pass through each and every place given in the list.
Google maps is erratic when it comes between Hyderabad to Goa, It gives multiple route options(shortest).
Avoid them and follow the route via Gangavati, It is little long, but road condition is better.

If you are driving a sedan, don't even experiment.

All the best for your journey, buckle up and drive safe.
Do update us with the latest status. Your updates are very helpful to other members.

Thank you

Sure.. I'll update the details once I'm back from trip.

FYI - we  are going by bike (motor cycle)

Planning to reach Dandeli forest, stay one day there and head to south Goa next day. Is it good?? Or any suggestions for better plan??

If you are planning for just a relaxation stop over.
Hubbali-Dharward is a perfect place, you can find plenty of accommodations at reasonable price.

If you are planning a stop over, want to cover some place.
You can plan a stopover at Hampi and Dandeli makes sense.

Dandeli water rafting is good.
But it is not open all days, some times it is closed.

Make sure you prebook the accommodation(Dandeli) during weekends.
Also check with the hotel guys about rafting.

@sagar has done it many times, can you please provide more details about dandeli?

Dear @krishh,

Dandeli would be a perfect place for a stop over enroute Goa. But, make sure you spend atleast a day over there amidst a forest resort where you could do activities like white water rafting, kayaking, natural water Jacuzzi, and other forest trails while you close down for the night besides a bonfire and tent camping.

Hornbill resort is one of the very good stays dandeli has got which is not on an economical side, But, If you choose to camp in tents anyways.. I would recommend Stanley's farm.

Day - 1

Hyderabad - Dandeli

Day - 2

Dandeli (activities)

Day - 3

Dandeli to South Goa (As per preference)

South Goa is the best place to relax and spend some quality time away from the commercial crowd. Calm and peaceful.

Have a safe Ride. Hoping that this would help you to a certain extent.

Thanks @sagar and @Ranger, for the information.

Camping in tents sounds exciting. seems we might go for Stanley's then.

Sagar, I made similar plan.

Day 1

Hyd -> Dandeli

Day 2

Activities at Dandeli

Head to South Goa in evening

Day 3 & 4

North and South Goa - a day each

Day 5

Dudhsagar

Day 6

Goa -> Hyd

Sounds good?? Can someone suggest me of best markets and things to look at in Goa??

Thanks a lot for the update shiva :) Road status of Goa keeps varying quite often. Probably this is the best option we have got today. This road to Goa this Christmas week in December is going to get rush.

This it the current best route from Hyderabad to Goa.
Most of the road is single lane, you can find fuel and food without any problem.
Don't expect luxury, Only small food joints.

It depends on the car we drive and driver skills.
I agree that many experienced drivers have done Hyderabad to Goa in 12 hours.
But for an average driver, Google maps is accurate.

Hyderabad to Goa in 11 hours is quick.
From your display picture I can see it is a Ford SUV.
But a regular car takes around 12~14 hours.

Starting at 5 AM can save lot of time.
How is the road via Solapur, never heard about it.?

Haven't even considered this as an option during my drive to Goa many a times after being sure about the drive time it takes.

But, 11 hours is really a wonder after seeing your message. What was the average speed at which you drove? how many pitstops have you guys taken in between? and how were the road conditions? which route have you  taken between Hyderabad to Solapur? :D
