Hi,
Welcome on board.

Where are planning for the halt, which car?

Roads from Hyderabad to Nagpur are good.
But from Nagpur to Varanasi are pathetic.

Hyderabad to Nagpur is 4-lane, apart from small bad patch.

Food options are very limited.
Only road side dhabas(small) are available.

Sharing few food options which are given by ranger:

Quote

Breakfast stop:
Divya Restaurant : https://goo.gl/maps/5Q8PeZ5A8vF2

Lunch stop:
If you want to refresh and need clean washrooms, I would suggest you to take a detour from Dichpally to Nizamabad.
Once you cross Nirmal you cannot find a proper restaurant.

Would recommend hotel Nikhil sai International at Nizamabad
https://goo.gl/maps/AQMR34HuDXC2

Make sure you have the lunch before Nirmal

Roads from Nagpur to Varnasi is mostly single lane.

Many roads are bad.

I think it will be very tiring to do it in a single day (Nagpur to Varanasi)

Hyderabad to Nagpur is easy.
You will reach by dinner time, If you start at 2PM.

If you halt at Nagpur, next day you should start at 4AM.

It will easily take around 18 hours from Nagpur to Varanasi.

Nagpur stop over is a must, if he wants to avoid night drive.

Nagpur to Varanasi is going to be hectic.

No proper roads and few diversions.

May be he can push a little and halt at Jabalpur.

I think Jabalpur is a big town, they will have some hotels?

Agree with you.

But he is starting at 2PM.

If he starts early in the morning form Hyderabad.

Hyderabad -> Jabalpur -> Varanasi, will be an ideal choice.

We stayed in some  hotel around 2014,

I don't remember the hotel name, but they have decent options.

It's really a stretch as he needs to cover 1250km.

Better to take a break.
Otherwise start early morning by 2 am from Hyderabad and around lunch time take some 1-2hrs break have a nap and start,

So he can reach Varanasi by night 9 - 10 pm..

Not possible in a single day, even with multiple drivers.
He should take a break.

Question?
Nagpur or Jabalpur

Roads are bad after Nagpur.
If roads are good, your plan looks good.

How about taking break at Pench national park and do a break journey as it's on the way...I means take a day break...
I think on the way he needs to pass by few national parks..before reaching Varanasi...

Being Dasara Vacations planned a trip to Nagpur as my in-laws stay over there - Reached Nagpur By Train and planned this trip through All public Transport.
Ramtek is around 50 kms from Nagpur and journey around 1hr by Bus ,
      Road was through - Kaamtee - Mansar-Ramtek
-- There is a Bus every 30 minutes from Nagpur and Same from ramtek - although connected through Rail ....Train takes a bit long time than Road
By Car it takes arund 45 minutes : Road Via Kaamtee which has some industrial layouts and expect some traffic hence little delays
One Toll Booth on the way...
Ramtek is  small town has some average hotels and expect nothing about food ...but you can find dhabas around Khindsi Lake and Resorts around the lake would serve food .

--  Ramtek has few places to cover :
Gad Mandir Khindsi lake - Here you can find some resorts and also Boating allowed ...Naturally formed lake and we can find a Nice garden around it Poet Kalidas Memorial Jain Temple Enroute one can find Boudh Satva Temple

Ramtek has got Historic temple of lord Rama. It is believed that Ramtek was the place where Rama, the Hindu god, rested while he was in exile. Legend has it that the aashram of great Hindu sage Agastya was situated close to Ramtek. While the sages performed religious rites, the demons used to disrupt their activities and slayed a great number of holy men. Lord Rama was distressed to hear about this, and took a vow to relieve the world from the demons. 'Tek' means vow in local language, hence the word Ramtek comes from 'Vow of Ram'. Thus it is believed locally that whoever takes a vow at Ramtek is blessed by the gods for its fulfillment. The 'padukas' of Lord Ram are believed to have been worshipped here for centuries.
The present temple is believed to have been built by the King of Nagpur, Raghuji Bhonsale, after his victory over fort of Deogarh in Chindwara. The present temple is 400 years old.
This place is also famous for its relation with great Sanskrit poet Kalidasa. It is believed that Kalidasa wrote Meghadūta in the hills of Ramtek. The former Indian Prime Minister Narsimha Rao contested his election from Ramtek Constituency.
      Source : Wiki

-- Trek to Temple is very easy and stairs are simple . One can easily take them - There are very much Monkeys hence be careful in and around temple .
      - Khindsi Lake has garden and an entry fee  too and again one has to pay if they have to take Boat ride - Generally people get food from home and have it leisurely at the Garden here

Over all a Place that can be  Covered in a day from Nagpur

      https://goo.gl/maps/4ZU7cMJrdkG2

      - Very few options on this section due to new roads
      - Road between Hyderabad to Humnabad is excellent.
      - Humnabad to Solapur is pathetic, some sections are too narrow.
      - Solapur to Pune is excellent, but recently new have installed speed bumps near villages.

      - We had a lunch break at some road side restaurant.
      - We reached Pune by 6PM.

      - During last drive they reached Pune at 7PM (started at 4AM)

      - We reached Pune by night

Day 3 : Pune to Matheran
-We repeated the same schedule of Day2, till breakfast.
      - We hit the famous Mumbai-Pune expressway
      - I can clearly see everyone is pushing their cars, it was pure fun for drivers.
      - Best experience of Mumbai-Pune expressway is during monsoon.
      - Once we divert from expressway, roads to Mahteran are pathetic.
      - It took us hours to complete 80 kilometres.
      - I loved Mathern, they don't even allow cycles.
      - Only transport option by walk or horse.
      - Hotels on the hill top are below average.
      - While driving back we reached pretty quick on the same route.
      - We reached to Pune to 9PM

Day 4 : Pune to Hyderabad
      - Drive is was uneventful
      -  It is similar to Day1

Apart from 1 Polo puncture, drive is fantastic throughout four days.

      Drive
      Hyderabad : Solapur : Pune : Lohagad fort : Lonavala : Pune : Matheran : Pune : Solapur : Hyderabad

      Road condition:
      Hyderabad to Solapur :
Hyderabad to Humnabad is good and Humnabad to Solapur is bad

      Solapur to Pune :
Very good, but i have seen some uneven sections, It is no where close to Hyderabad-Bangalore sections

      Pune to Lohagad:
Road are narrow scenic and good

      Loahagad to Lonavala
      Roads are bad

      Lonavala to Pune
      Road are excellent

      Dear All,

Apologies for the late reply. I finally completed the trip and it was a great experience.
I visited the below locations in span of 6 days and drove 2400 kms.
Nallamala Jungle camp Horsley hills Chennakesava temple Sompalam Kadiri Narsimha swamy temple Talakona waterfalls Tirupathi Srikalahasti
      Day-1
      Hyderabad to Nallamala Jungle Camp
My planned route is Banglore highway i.e
Hyderabad ---> Jadcharla--->Kurnool-->Nandyal--->Nallamala Jungle Camp Pacherla

Excellent road conditions. I started my journey at 6:30 am from Hydearabad and reachd Nallama Jungle camp by 10:45 am , with a break in Kurnool for breakfast.
For 4000 Rs  ( you will get cottage, breakfast,Lunch & Dinner at Nallamala Pacherla) , beware of Monkeys. Safari tour was adventurous but hardly we spot any wild life.

      Day -2&3
Nallamall Jungle camp to Horsley Hills
Planned route Nallamala Jungle Camp --->Rayachoti---> Horsley Hills (1-day break)

Roads are very good until Rayachoti. From there to Horsley hills it was pathetic , they are laying new roads and the present condition was worst. Please avoid this road by all means.

Horsley hills is a pretty good place to chill down and relax. The weather is pleasant always.
Here we had spend two days exploring Horsley hills and neary by places.
Chennakesava Temple at Sompalayam is a ancient forgotten temple with unbelievable architecture one should go and watch.
We also visite Kadiri Narsimha swamy temple on the way.

      Day 4
Halt at Tirupati (enroute Talakona Waterfalls)
Planned route Horsley Hills--> Talakona waterfalls --> Tirupati

Roads are pretty good with speed bumps at some places .

      Day 5
      Tirupati darshan

      Return Journey

      Day 6
      Tirupati NAM expressway  Tirupati--->Srikalahasti-->Nellore-->Kavali-->Ongole-->Nalgonda-->Hyderabad.

While coming we took Nellore Kavali NAM express towards  Hyderabad. The road condition is Ok with so many toll gates  and some huge repairs in between. Somehow I feel and suggest to take Kurnool route to Tirupathi which is really good.

Attaching few photos from my tour , please have a look.
