Thanks for sharing the info @sahil ... I shall plan my trip to Tadoba probably in the month of May. Chances of spotting the Tigers might be more due to summer as they can fall out at the ponds for thirst :D

true. but it will be damn hot to travel or stay in the forest.

Yeah but forest stays are comfortable and good enough for us to spare a night when we are sure about spotting a tiger during those months. It is all about luck again at the end of the day :D

Tadoba is ideal place for a summer getaway.
We don't have much places to explore during summer(South India)

We planned a India-Drive meetup.
But the resorts are very expensive and bookings for a big crowd is little complicated.
We need to book resort + Safari.

Main disadvatage? People will be disappointed, if they don't spot a Tiger. :D
We decided to cancel. :(

haha..we won't get disappointed all we need is a drive and meetup.
We don't care about location.

If the plan is still on cards, please reconsider.
Good resorts in Tadoba are dam expensive, 10k per night :o

Is there are work around for this? some place neary to Tadoba instead of staying at Tadoba.
Since, we will be going on cars, we can drive down around 100 kilometers without any issue.

I have never been in thick forest and experience something like this. I shall give a shot and gamble. Yes stay is expensive but probably will check with all the resorts listed on our ID site and few more on other sites for the reviews and feedback.

@RangerIdeally how long will it take by driving?

Roads are good till Adilabad.
Once we cross Adilabad, bad roads will start.
Can be done under 8 hours, If you start early in the morning.

I would suggest the following plan. Two Safaries(on budget trip)

  • Start early in the morning from Hyderabad(4am)
  • Book a Safari on the same day evening.
  • Stay at Tadoba for the night.
  • Book a safari for the next day morning.
  • After the Safari drive back to Hyderabad.

Above plan will minimize the cost of accomidation.

If you are planning to do Three Safaries

  • Start from Hyderabad around 9AM.
  • Stay at Tadoba for the night
  • Book a safari for the next day morning.
  • Book a Safari on the evening.
  • Stay at Tadoba for the night.
  • Book a Safari in the morning.
  • Drive back to Hyderabad after the Safari

I heard that chances of spotting is high during early in the morning. (not sure how true it is..)

Its difficult to get bookings for both safari and stay on weekends.

Not sure if any weekday works for all.

Hi

Could somebody list a few best resorts available in Tadoba. Stay around 6K per night is ideal for me. Thank you.

Hello friends, This is my first post in this group and i am very much excited to share my road trip details. Please excuse me about my english..

Route: Hyderabad to vizag via vijayawada in car.
Vizag to araku in kirandal passenger train.
Vizag to hyderabad via viajayawada in car.

Day 1:Hyderabad to vizag in car.
We are total 5 friends and planned for a road trip since 3 months. We have decided to share money (we call it advd (evadi money vadey) in telugu😁). So on day one we collected 2000 from each person. here is our humble partner in crime.
       and the journey starts...
Four of us after crossing rajamundry
We finished our lunch at ravulapalem at one of our friends home and moved on to vizag.
Scenic beauty and excellent roads between ravulapalem and vizag.

We have reached vizag by 7:30 and decided to spend some time at beach.

We had dinner and local bandi and ate paratas for the night .
      End of Day 1.
      Details:
      1. total cost: 5000 including breakfast+diesel+dinner.
      2. Room cost: 1600 for 24 hours.
      3. Distance covered : around 800 Km ( i am the solo driver. I dont like to sit in passenger seat in cars).

Day 2:Vizag to Araku in kirandul passenger.
Locals and hotel people suggested that best way to visit araku is experiencing kirandul passnger. It goes through 25+ tunnels to reach araku.
Train starts exactly at 6:50AM from vizag and reaches araku at 11AM.
Here are the some pics from train journey.

After reaching araku we spent around 30 minutes and decided to see borra caves.
20 to 30 minutes journey in a bus.
and here are the pics from borra caves
We came back to vizag in same kirandul passenger in after noon.

We called it a day and took the rest for the night.
      Day 2 details:
Total cost : around 2500 including all food expenses + train tickets + entry tickets at borra caves
Room cost: 1600 for another 24 hours.

Day3: Vizag to hyderabad in a car
Our return journey was more exciting as slight drizzle is there in through out the journey and most of the roads are empty.
Here are some pics from return journey.
We reached home by 9 at night. we drove lazily and stopped more times to enjoy weather.

      Day 3:
total cost: 5000 including breakfast+diesel+dinner (as ususal my friends mother took care of our lunch at ravulapalem)

Total expenditure : 15000 including some misc expenditure. We divided this between 5 of us... 3000 per head

      Note:
      1. Please bare with bad image quality. next time we try with better cameras.
      2. We travel to enjoy driving and roads and not to see destinations. so, normally we just decide and drive off randomly.
      3. What ever the image size i am uploading it is enlarged in the post.
      4. Please add us into your whats app group. we are very much interested in road trips in cars.

Evergreen County Team welcoming India - Drive Team:

Exploring the Resort, It is a treat to eyes and nestled in to Nature!

We have planned to explore Irupu falls after exploring the resort, we understood from the locals that there is a huge Tea Estate on our route to Irupu Falls, Couple of cars went ahead to check it out (Polo & Tiago) and we were the only one's to look at this beautiful View! We had to go back to the convoy with a bad news "Visitors are not allowed"

We continued our drive towards Irupu Falls, One should not miss this falls in Monsoon! Reach the falls, close your eyes and surrender yourself to the Mother Nature!! ❤️

We have reached back to the resort by the time light faded and gone for the Nature walk around the Resort and had a wonderful time with India Drive Members introducing themselves at the Camp Fire session followed by delicious Dinner at the Resort Restaurant (Secret Spices, Rest O cafe)!

After a Sumptuous Breakfast and an unforgettable Morning Coffee (Pictures Below) we checked out of the resort and headed towards our exploration drive towards Mandalpatti Peak (Heaven, I call this after exploring the place). We came across a Landslide en route Mandalpatti and we could not take our cars any further, for a moment it was a disappointment but that's when we got to know from the locals that we have to hire 4x4 vehicles to be able to reach Mandalpatti Peak. Without wasting any time, we parked our cars, hired those beasts and started enjoying some pure off roading fun and reached the Heaven!! We have spent considerable amount of time exploring the place with literally zero visibility and clicking pictures. We have reached the car parking location back by about 5 pm with a super Maggi break (Special Thanks to our Instant Chef Bhargav) and started our drive back too Mysore!

Like all the other Drives, we had to end this Drive too wishing if we could have continued it for another Infinite number of days!!

Aideu from Sridhar Tandra until next Drive Meet!!❤️❤️
