Thanks buddy, no major challenges with the road....

There were very bad patches but XUV was helpful. Saw some landslides enroute Shimla as it was raining. The roads till Kalpa (with a few stretches bad) was ok.

Stretch from Tabo - Nako - Kaza was good.

Roads managed by BRO were being developed fast between Shimla - Kaza

Road condition is bad between Kaza - Chandratal - Batal - Rothang Pass was like I am driving on a patch with no road and a path was formed just due to many vehicles passing.

Leh Manali Highway is being developed on war footing with road improving before Rothang Pass.

Overall no major roadblocks and everyone taxi drivers / locals were very supportive.

Good to hear the improvements.
During our drive we faced numerous land slides, we got stuck on the road for one full day.

There was a diesel shortage due to land slides.

Overall Spiti circuit is a memorable experience.

Difficult roads often lead to the beautiful destinations.

We were in trans for one full month after the Spiti drive.
Im planning to drive back again, probably 2018.

This year, It is Sikkim.

My dream trip!!
Fantastic video, roads are scary.

You took good amount of risk driving with family, I feel it is worth it.
Hope you had a great time with them.

Please invest on mobile mount, It will eliminate the shake.

Totally Pinaki, maybe we should impress upon our Admins to plan a IndiaDrive Family Trip to Spiti.

Homestay Bodhi Tree BnB in Shimla: ₹2713 (Source: OYO)

Below was a package booked by Ranjeet (a Himalayan travel enthusiast). Costed ₹13000 include stay, simple bfast n dinner

Kalpa: Little Heaven (was more like a simple home stay with a Himachali family) - 1N
Tabo: Hotel Maitreya Regency Tabo (a bit upscale) - 1N
Kaza: Hotel Old Monk a decent place with good view. Has decent WiFi availability - 2N
Chandratal Lake: Moon Lake Camp, Chandratal (Swiss Tent) - 1N

Once in Manali, Booked OYO Rangiri - ₹5600 - 2N ( regret it to this day) bad experience.

Instead, will recommend Allure Grand (another OYO property was very good, just as you enter into Manali from Rohthang Pass.

Else look for Citrus Resorts in Rangiri..
