Exactly Sagar My family also enjoyed the peaceful time at the riverside. Aspire is doing great. Met with a couple tiny accidents which are unavoidable in a city like ours Overall We love driving it.

Visited this place last weekend.
We went there with family.

We took our own food and had lunch near the lake bed.
Fantastic place, away from regular tourist crowd.

Please carry your own food and water, no shops available near the lake.
You can also try Telangana tourism resort near the lake, but I doubt If they will have any food.

Nice pictures.

Is this the best rout?

Gachibowli (ORR) ---> Patancheru (Mumbai highway exit) ---> Sadashivpet ---> Atmakur ---> Singur Dam

I heard that we can even cover Pocharam Dam and Wile life Sanctuary from Singur Dam  and come back via Medak Church - Hyderabad.

Is it doable in one day and any good rout from Singur Dam to Pocharam and Medak?

Yeah, best route from Hyderabad to Singur Dam.
Previously we used to drive via Sangareddy, with new roads completed, Via Sadashivpet and Armakur is the best option.
Few more pictures from the meetup section

PS: Early in the morning is the best time to visit.

It is doable but the road condition from Singur to Pocharam is not so great.

I would suggest you to visit these on separate days, since you wont save much of a distance by covering both the places in a single day.

Thanks for the precise info. Visited the site this sunday, Initial plan is to start early morning as suggested but couldn't start by 7. so we started around 2 PM after lunch hoping to see sunset at the dam site. lot of evening traffic on the NH 65, once  we turn from NH65 to Atmakur side, The roads were getting narrow and road condition is not good, thus making the drive longer. We were able to reach the bridge by 4 PM, the views were spectacular and peaceful. Spent some time at the bridge and went ahead to the dam site. Wow! indeed it's a fantastic place where could see miles and miles of distance. But the place was slightly crowded being a sunday evening, maybe. nevertheless it was fun. we spent some quiet moments walking on the bridge, feeding peanuts to monkeys.  after reaching the other end took few more pics and finished the sightseeing, and headed back to parking. while returning we went to haritha resorts for some refreshing tea. Didn't go to see the circular well, as this side of the dam look very isolated and no families around. We started the return journey by 5:30PM. little early than we thought, as driving in the narrow roads will be a trouble considering it was getting dark. Managed to reach the NH65 by sunset. Glorious sun was setting back in the rear view mirror as we drive back to city. Reached miyapur by 7:30. An evening well spent. Thank you!

Thank you for the update.

Water levels look pretty low even during monsoon.

This is the best part, it is safe near the circular well. Many of our members have been there with their families.
I am not sure about evenings but early mornings it is a good place.

Surprising to see the water levels so low during this season.. Looks like the dam gates have remained shut for a long time at this place.. :O

I decent restaurant or a dhaba close by this dam can grab good number of weekend visitors :)

The problem we faced here in the evening, is a common problem we usually face in such peaceful locations.  drunkards or people who visit such scenic locations only to drink and eat non-veg stuff and throw bottles and junk. we saw this nonsense at orvakal and in the jungle camp at pacherla also. i seriously wonder why they need to come to such locations when their idea of having fun is only to drink and eat. 🙈 Even some google reviews mentioned about this issue, sadly i didn't notice it earlier. Visiting this place in morning is advisable.

i have not seen a single signboard on the road mentioning the site or singur village. In a way it's good it stays less polluted.

This is biggest worry for me. Specially, when me and wife go on a road trip.
It is always risky visit a unknown isolated place.

When Safety is in place, Overcrowded

When the place is Isolated, Safety issues

Reason, I joined India-Drive.
Always feel safe driving in group.

I did not travelled for three months and the traveller in side me is thirsty.
Few plans to West Maharastra and Goa with friends did not materialised.

I had also planned a trip to Chitrakote falls with family friends but they were afraid of travelling in Chattisgarh.
It was late night of 27th July, 2018 Friday and I was desperate to go to some place.
I asked my wife and son Shall we go to Chitrakote Waterfalls? They said yes.

Rough route plan was with me. No bookings for night stay made.

Got up early on 28-07-2018 Saturday and started from Home by 5.30 AM and reached Warangal by 7.30 AM.

I know the route up to Eturunagaram before Bhogatha and I know very well that once we cross Warangal,
it is difficult to get any food. So we had Breakfast at Hotel Ashoka, Hanmakonda, once my favorite. Entered in to Mulugu road (from here entire roads are 2 lane) by 8.30 AM.

Our original thought was to come back in the same route from Chitrakote but it proved wrong.
Initially we thought of seeing Bhogatha falls in return journey so as to reach Chitrakote early.
By 10.30 we were at Bhogatha Falls cross road and its only 1 Km from there. We thought lets have a look without wasting much time.

It proved to be good decision.
