40kmph speed inside the city, damm.. Travelling time will increase if everyone drives in that speed.

There are no proper roads in city and top of that they want to implement this rules.

It is a welcome move by Hyderabad Police.

But how would they manage this, for example one licence is suspended, how would they ensure that the same person is not driving.

Whats are the charges if a person with suspended licence is found driving.

This is well tested and successfull formula on foreign lands, hope it works in India as well

I have a same question.

How will they identify the driver without checking his ID.

Something is missing.

Do we need a license to buy a car.

Because I bought a car on my mother's name and she doesn't have a license.

Nope we don't require licence to buy a car.

Vehicle can even be registered on business names as well.

There should be very strict laws to monitor for people who drive with suspended licence.

It's not 40kmph, read it as permitted speed (E.g. 60kmph) +40kmph above this speed to attract penalty points

Adding points table that is doing rounds in WhatsApp.

Still clarity is missing, they are saying  contact less and cash less enforcement of traffic violations.

Agree to this point, without proper infrastructure it is tough to achieve results.

It may be considered as If he is driving without license.

How will they handle out of state license, One my friend has two licenses from two different states. :photo:

Yeah

Driving upto 40km/hr higher than permitted speed, penalty is 2 points.
Driving above 40km/hr higher than permitted speed, penalty is 3 points.

Our cabbies will be breaking that rule on daily basis.

But where are the speed limit boards. :D

Better late than never, Brilliant step by the Hyderabad traffic police. It is a well known fact that, the formula has been successful in many parts of the world true but It is definitely a challenge to the officials having some serious control on this knowing the illegal acts occurring in the capital.

I hope the law applies to everyone with no difference shown between the Govt. officials, Auto ricks and the RTC buses.

Hey Guys,

I am confused!

How are 12 points calculated, different sources show different information.

Is it like accumulating 12 in a year(1-Aug-17 to 1-Aug-18) or is it like accumulating at any point of time in any time period and licence stands canceled for 1 year

Agree on it, Information is not at all clear.

  • License is canceled, if you cross 12 points in the time period of 24 months
  • I guess it is from 1-August-17 to 1-August-19
  • Points will refresh after 1-August-19

There is no information on timelines, If license is canceled.

Imagine, If license is canceled on December-17, He will get it back on December-18.
From December-18, will he get complete 12 points till August-19.

I did not travelled for three months and the traveller in side me is thirsty.
Few plans to West Maharastra and Goa with friends did not materialised.

I had also planned a trip to Chitrakote falls with family friends but they were afraid of travelling in Chattisgarh.
It was late night of 27th July, 2018 Friday and I was desperate to go to some place.
I asked my wife and son Shall we go to Chitrakote Waterfalls? They said yes.

Rough route plan was with me. No bookings for night stay made.

Got up early on 28-07-2018 Saturday and started from Home by 5.30 AM and reached Warangal by 7.30 AM.

I know the route up to Eturunagaram before Bhogatha and I know very well that once we cross Warangal,
it is difficult to get any food. So we had Breakfast at Hotel Ashoka, Hanmakonda, once my favorite. Entered in to Mulugu road (from here entire roads are 2 lane) by 8.30 AM.

Our original thought was to come back in the same route from Chitrakote but it proved wrong.
Initially we thought of seeing Bhogatha falls in return journey so as to reach Chitrakote early.
By 10.30 we were at Bhogatha Falls cross road and its only 1 Km from there. We thought lets have a look without wasting much time.

It proved to be good decision.
