Hyderabad Road accidents

Recommended Posts

If there an idiot behind the wheel, it doesn't matter which car he drives.

Accident happened on the left most lane.

Last two lanes are dedicated to the trucks.

Agree that tucks should have rear protection but at 140km/hr, I don't think it will with stand.

Sharing a story, that I came across in FB

Feeling angry with The Park Hyderabad

I have recently been to The Park hotel, Somajiguda recently, and i am very grieved to tell you the experience that i had there.

This is regarding my car which was crashed at The Park hotel, somajiguda on 13/06/2017, because of the careless & rash driving of the valet driver at the hotel.

I have purchased my car to specifically suit my purpose and have retrofitted it with handle controls so that both me and a normal person can drive it. I have a full time driver and he drives the car as every other person.

1.On 13th June the valet driver at The Park hotel, somajiguda has crashed my car, skoda rapid with registration no. TS01ED 3322 into a wall, due to his careless & rash driving. [This didn't happened last 4 or 5 times when it was given for valet parking at the same hotel].

 2. After that i went to the location of the accident and saw the car, it was in a very bad condition, radiator water is leaking from the hood. I spoke with the security manager Mr. sathyanarayana, who said that it is completely the mistake of valet driver and hotel will take the responsibility of repairing my car and get it delivered to me within 5-7 days.

3. when i have asked for a written consent letter or mail from the hotel regarding the same, he assured me that you can trust loyalty of the hotel, as ours is a prestigious 5 star hotel. He gave me a valet ticket for my vehicle and gave me another vehicle honda city with registration no. AP BW 2743 as a replacement for my car. I trusted him and left the hotel as i was in a hurry.

4. The security manager at the hotel shared my number with the valet vendor [who took the valet parking contract at the hotel] and i was forced to meet him. I was called to the hotel saying that there is a meeting with the finance manager (as general manger was on leave) and i was left unattended by finance manager in the lobby with the valet vendor and was suggested to discuss the issue & settel it with him.

I immediately met duty manager Mr.Ankush mukherjee and spoke to him. I was surprised to know that, he was told the whole issue in a different way. The security manager has told him that i was demanding for an new car for the old one, which was false. this shows the proper communication and functioning of the hotel. I clearly said him that i have only two conditions

------The car must be repaired from a authorised skoda service centre &

------I am not going to claim the insurance for the valet drivers carelessness.

which Mr.Ankush found it to be fair. He said that he would discuss the issue with the general manager and let me know. From that day there is no response from the hotel management.

5. when my car was at the hotel parking lot even after 5 days of accident, i was forced to get it towed to the service centre by myself

6. Instead of my various requests, mails, calls & attempts to reach the hotel management, i couldn't reach anyone other than the reception.

7.Trusting the false promises made by the hotel management i haven't even filed an FIR at police station till date. Today i was told by security manager that u can proceed legally against the hotel as we can handle it quiet easily. And also threatened me of filing a theft case against me regarding the car which was given to me as replacement for my car.

8. I am very much disappointed by the behavior of hotel management. They are not only denying to pay for the expenses of the car repairs, but also threatening me with a theft case. Today i am betrayed by the hotel for trusting them. I clearly know one thing that, a common man like me can't fight against a 5 star hotel [ as already threatened by the security manager ]

As it is said in there site "Apeejay‚Äôs tradition of trust, reliability and fairness. Committed to doing good business" is completely disproved in my case. ¬†The only thing delivered is "the ideal space to create an unforgettable memories.ūüėĘūüė≠". Their sophistication and the local art and culture is use to harass persons like me. ¬†

so please be careful while handing your car to valet parking.

This is a real shame on such a reputed firm in the country. The expenses spent on solving the issues in court would fall higher than the expenses which the park hotels would be spending on the car repairs. They would have bagged good will in bonus to that. Shear cheating acts will definitely cost them more.

He is thrown out of the car upon the impact, clearly shows he is not wearing seat belts.

Recently, he lost his son. He must have learnt importance of seat belts. Lack of awareness or who cares attitude?

Any idea about what happened to vehicle that is going in the opposite direction?

RIP.

No information about the on-coming vehicle.

Hopefully there are no injuries/casualties.

High speed + SUV + Not wearing seat belts is a deadly combo.

Mean while city is high traffic alert.

May be due to politicians/celebrity movement to Harikrishna house.

Vinit shared following information:

Guys city is blocked in some areas.

From Secunderabad I cannot go to Nampally, cannot go towards Banjara hills and Panjagutta it's all blocked.

Though not from Hyderabad.

Sad to see a brand new RR going down.

Will it be repairable or total loss?

I'm sure it will cost more than my humble swift to repair that bumper ūüėĀ

Looks like it has got a good amount of under-body damage.

It is not yet registered.

Hope, it does have a proper insurance coverage.

What a loss.¬†ūü§ź

The red registration board with white writing is a temporary registration for a brand new vehicle. When a new car is bought, the showroom will register the car temporarily until you register the car after paying the road tax. This temporary registration is usually valid for one month.

Modern cars are build around the concept called SEAT BELTS.

If people don't use them,  there is no difference between Nano and a BMW.

Seat belt is a must, I would suggest people in rear seats also start wearing seat belt.

Anyone can be thrown out be it front or rear seat passengers during a mishap.

Three people were killed near Gachibowli cross roads after being hit by a metro TSTRC bus today morning. The bus was heading to Lingampally from Koti.

link

This happend today morning, Im stuck in the office cab for 30mins.

How much does it to take to implement a proper bus stop?

I have seen most of the RTC bus stopping ahead/before/middle of the road.

They never stop at designated location.

I'm not blaming the bus driver but people rush as soon as they see the bus.

Sharing Autos usually block most of the bus stop area.

A proper marked bus stop is a distant dream in India?

This is so sad a news to hear.. May their soul RIP!

Such accidents are very much prone to happen in our country and still the things don't change.. Neither the people, nor the drivers.

And the sharing autos should be banned in the country as they do not follow the basic traffic rule of limiting their seats to the capacity of the vehicle.

This in-turn tends to make their stop everywhere on the road and everywhere in the city. Police have to take some serious steps to correct this and we can surely witness some change in the society.

RTC buses are no less on these city roads even during heavy traffic conditions.

There many points in Hyderabad that needs a proper foot over bridge.

I face lot of issues while crossing at Cyber-gateway.

Two guards  are stationed during peak hours but in the afternoons it gets very difficult.

Not even a vehicle is willing to easy of acceleration.

They either want to cross behind you or accelerate to cross before you.

From my personal experience, I started slowing down as soon as i see people crossing the road.

People behind me gets frustrated and honks needlessly, but i don't bother.

      - Breakfast stop at around 7:30 AM at Hotel Mahindra Paradise
      https://goo.gl/maps/4ZU7cMJrdkG2

      - Very few options on this section due to new roads
      - Road between Hyderabad to Humnabad is excellent.
      - Humnabad to Solapur is pathetic, some sections are too narrow.
      - Solapur to Pune is excellent, but recently new have installed speed bumps near villages.

      - We had a lunch break at some road side restaurant.
      - We reached Pune by 6PM.
      - According to admins, we are very quick compared to last drive.
      - During last drive they reached Pune at 7PM (started at 4AM)

      - We reached Pune by night

Day 3 : Pune to Matheran
-We repeated the same schedule of Day2, till breakfast.
      - We hit the famous Mumbai-Pune expressway
      - I can clearly see everyone is pushing their cars, it was pure fun for drivers.
      - Best experience of Mumbai-Pune expressway is during monsoon.
      - Once we divert from expressway, roads to Mahteran are pathetic.
      - It took us hours to complete 80 kilometres.
      - I loved Mathern, they don't even allow cycles.
      - Only transport option by walk or horse.
      - Hotels on the hill top are below average.
      - While driving back we reached pretty quick on the same route.
      - We reached to Pune to 9PM

Day 4 : Pune to Hyderabad
      - Drive is was uneventful
      -  It is similar to Day1

Apart from 1 Polo puncture, drive is fantastic throughout four days.

      Drive
      Hyderabad : Solapur : Pune : Lohagad fort : Lonavala : Pune : Matheran : Pune : Solapur : Hyderabad

      Road condition:
      Hyderabad to Solapur :
Hyderabad to Humnabad is good and Humnabad to Solapur is bad

      Solapur to Pune :
Very good, but i have seen some uneven sections, It is no where close to Hyderabad-Bangalore sections

      Pune to Lohagad:
Road are narrow scenic and good

      Loahagad to Lonavala
      Roads are bad

      Lonavala to Pune
      Road are excellent

      Dear All,

Apologies for the late reply. I finally completed the trip and it was a great experience.
I visited the below locations in span of 6 days and drove 2400 kms.
Nallamala Jungle camp Horsley hills Chennakesava temple Sompalam Kadiri Narsimha swamy temple Talakona waterfalls Tirupathi Srikalahasti
      Day-1
      Hyderabad to Nallamala Jungle Camp
My planned route is Banglore highway i.e
Hyderabad ---> Jadcharla--->Kurnool-->Nandyal--->Nallamala Jungle Camp Pacherla

Excellent road conditions. I started my journey at 6:30 am from Hydearabad and reachd Nallama Jungle camp by 10:45 am , with a break in Kurnool for breakfast.
For 4000 Rs  ( you will get cottage, breakfast,Lunch & Dinner at Nallamala Pacherla) , beware of Monkeys. Safari tour was adventurous but hardly we spot any wild life.

      Day -2&3
Nallamall Jungle camp to Horsley Hills
Planned route Nallamala Jungle Camp --->Rayachoti---> Horsley Hills (1-day break)

Roads are very good until Rayachoti. From there to Horsley hills it was pathetic , they are laying new roads and the present condition was worst. Please avoid this road by all means.

Horsley hills is a pretty good place to chill down and relax. The weather is pleasant always.
Here we had spend two days exploring Horsley hills and neary by places.
Chennakesava Temple at Sompalayam is a ancient forgotten temple with unbelievable architecture one should go and watch.
We also visite Kadiri Narsimha swamy temple on the way.

      Day 4
Halt at Tirupati (enroute Talakona Waterfalls)
Planned route Horsley Hills--> Talakona waterfalls --> Tirupati

Roads are pretty good with speed bumps at some places .

      Day 5
      Tirupati darshan

      Return Journey

      Day 6
      Tirupati NAM expressway  Tirupati--->Srikalahasti-->Nellore-->Kavali-->Ongole-->Nalgonda-->Hyderabad.

While coming we took Nellore Kavali NAM express towards  Hyderabad. The road condition is Ok with so many toll gates  and some huge repairs in between. Somehow I feel and suggest to take Kurnool route to Tirupathi which is really good.

Attaching few photos from my tour , please have a look.

I regularly commute on Hyderabad to Vijawayada highway, almost once in a month from the past 10 years.

Hyderabad to Vijayawada distance :275 kilometers

      Year :2006

It is a single lane road, not enough to fit 3 vehicles at a time. It used take me 7 hours to travel from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. Blind curves. Highest accident ever occurred in the country. One of the busiest, mostly filled with trucks. Worst road condition, filled with unlimited potholes. Driving at night is a suicide.(zero visibility with those high beams) Some overtakes used to take me at least 15 minutes, Imagine 10 trucks trailing each other with no space between them, on a single lane! No proper hotels and washroom Worst fuel quality But I used to enjoy the drive, it is challenging and fun.

      Year :2017(after a decade)

Now it has a 4-lane road, truck lay by lanes, emergency lanes and bridges across villages. It is taking me 4 hours from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. I am saving 3 hours.  Many good hotels available, no issues with washrooms. Toll road, with road assistance and standby ambulance for safety. Continues patrol across the highway, last year a huge industrial truck was stuck on highway while taking u-turn. Patrol guys arrived within 15 minutes and took the situation under control.

      Hotels between Hyderabad to Vijayawada

      1. Village Aharam :  Malkapur
First decent hotel on the highway

      2. Highway 9 Restaurant : Nalgonda
           Good for break fast

      3. Hotel Vivera : Nalgonda
Recomended, If you are planning to diver towards Nalgonda.

      4. Maa palle ruchulu : before suryapet
Village style hotel, don't expect luxury.

      5. Hotel 7 : suryapet
Best in quality, very good washrooms. Recommended for families.

      6. Numerous hotel in Suryapet.
You get all types verities over here.

      7. G-hotel : Suryapet

8.Once you cross Suryapet, you won't find any proper hotels, though you can find many road side dhabas.
Please correct If i miss anything.

      Fuel stations
You can find then in every 20 kilometers radius.

      Tolls
It is a complete toll road, elevated 4-lane, on an average you pay around 1 rupee per kilometre, so it should be under 250/-
