  3. Hyderabad to Srisailam Guide Distance : 220 kilometers Route : Hyderabad - Kadthal - Kalvakurthi (bypass) - Dindi - Munnanur - Mallapur - Sundhipenta - Srisailam Road condition : Hyderabad to Dindi, road condition is excellent. Super smooth road and has tolls. Toll road : Hyderabad to Dindi Dinidi to Srisailam, road condition is good, roads are narrow, difficult to overtake and many blind curves but the views are fantastic. Ghat road : Dindi to Srisailam
  4. Road trip : Mumbai to Hyderabad. Route: Mumbai --> Pune --> Solapur --> Akkalkot --> Kalaburgai --> Sedam --> Parigi --> Chevella --> Gachibowli (Hyderabad) Friends - here's a brief synopsis of the Mumbai to Hyderabad drive on 29th April. Needless to say, @Ranger directions and suggestions were spot-on! 👍 Left Mumbai (Powai) at 5am - this was 30 minutes delayed from plan. By 5:45am, covered the 40km stretch to the start of the e-way. Khalapur @ 6am and Talegaon @ 7 am (123 kms from home). Bad traffic on the e-way with lots of heavy vehicles. It was a crawl in the ghats even without a single truck breakdown. exited the e-way at 7:20am. 8:15am & 172 kms - Pune city exit and start of NH 65. Drive through the Pune city section and through 235 kms of NH 65 can be trying because of cross traffic. Lots of nurseries & eateries in this section till Solapur. At 188 kms, Suruchi Restaurant and many mini restaurants dot the area At 200 kms, Vithal Kamat. For the record, we did not eat at either of these restaurants Refuelling of the Yeti done at BPCL bunk @ 358 kms (10:45am) The only point of confusion was when I reached a fork where the signage indicated the left fork going towards Solapur. Enquired with a local and was told that I should be taking the right fork as that was the Solapur bye-pass The road from Solapur to Akkalkot was a single road with no divider for the majority part. A section of it was getting tarred and there was 1 KM that was particularly nasty. Hit the Moroom Akalkot road @ 445 kms at 12:20pm At 1:30pm and 524 kms away from home, entered Kalaburgai/Gulbarga - the land of toor dal. Pulled into Hotel Lumbini Grand (1:45pm and 532 kms) for lunch. Fantastic recommendation, Ranger!! Good food and neat washrooms. Post lunch at 2:45pm, hit SH10 - 2 divider-less lanes. 4pm and 670 kms fromMumbai, entered the state of Telangana. Road changes character and the smooth Karnataka roads transform into rough patches! We pass by Chevella at 5:10pm (690 kms) Finally, 747 kms later and at 6:35pm, we pull into our destination at Srinagar Colony. Overall, a fantastic drive exposing one to newer facts of the Indian landscape. This trip was all the more brilliant thanks to Ranger razor sharp advice and suggestions . Shall update with toll details and a complete log in a few days. Return journey is yet undecided - it could be either Hyderabad-Bangalore-Mumbai or directly back to Hyderabad. Keep you all posted. Till the, ciao!
  5. We got our new car in Aug 2018, decided to go for a long drive during dasara holidays. So we planned for a 3 day trip to Anantapur, lepakshi and madhavaraya temple gorantla. Day:1 Distance : 366 KM Travel time : 6 hours approx Started on Sunday afternoon around 1:30 PM, we took the NH44 towards jadcherla, karnool. Reached around 7:30 to Anantapur with tea break and dinner break nearby Anantapur (Hotel Mayura) . We stayed at Hotel Serena as we saw some good reviews about the place, and its close proximity to NH. Hotel was good as we expected. Day: 2 Distance: 255 KM We began our journey to Lepakshi temple around 8 am after had a delicious breakfast filled with yummy idlis and hot wadas at Ramaiah Idly Centre, which seems to be famous food joint known especially for Idlis in Anantapur. Reached Veerabhadra Temple, Lepakshi around 10 PM. Temple is maintained so clean and neatly, found parking place near by the entrance. Around 2 hours we spent in the temple admiring the marvellous sculptures of Vijayanagara architecture. Being the holidays season temple had good amount of visitors, though we had a pleasant darshan. Temple has a small garden and washroom facilities. This is a must visit temple if you like visiting historical places filled with beautiful sculptures and grand architecture. Few pictures take using my mobile. hope you like them.

  7. Hyderabad to Koilsagar photolog Hyderabad to Koilsagar best route? Hyderabad to Koilsagar has multiple route options. Distance : 140 kilometers from Gachibowli Best route: Hyderabad --> Jadhcharla --> Bhuthpur --> Devarkadra --> Koilsagar Section between Bhuthput to Devarkadra will take you via village roads(narrow). Drive cautiously. Many blind curves and bad roads. Hyderabad to Bhutpur : Fantastic 4-lane Bhutpur to Devarkandra : Village roads, few bad patches nothing alraming. Devarkandra to Koilsagr : Roads are good! Food options at Koilsagar? You wont even find a single food stall near the lake. You can get some food from near by villages, but it is better to carry your own food/water. Best option is to pack your food and drive down. You can buy food at Hotel 97/Food plaza on NH44 highway before Bhutpur. Offroad trail at koilsagar? Can small cars handle? In order to enjoy the real beauty of Koilsagar, you need to drive down to the other side of the lake. Trail is easy to drive, any car do it without any problem. But during monsoon, it may get slippery, walk through the trail and judge the track before venturing. Koilsagar trail entrance? Trail entry is present just before the village. Google maps :GPS Once you reach the above given destination, you will find two water tanks on your right side. There are two trails adjacent to the water tanks. Take the trail which is beside the second water tank(road is much better) Satellite view of the Koilsagar trail(not avialable in google maps ) Best time to visit Koilsagar? Koilsagar can be visited through out the year. Avoid the trail, during the peak monsoon, most of the place is submerged in water. Sunset/Sunrise is the best time to visit in a day.
  8. Hello fellow enthusiasts, Recently I was on a road trip to Goa and enjoyed a lot. The hunger of being on road never ends, so with some long discussion with my better half and parents, we came on a decision to take a Road Trip to Bhutan. The plan is set, dates are fixed and I have started working on the itineraries. The chosen month is April, as very less time is left, I am turning to you guys to suggest me the required preparations for the trip. We would be four travellers, the vehicle would be Hyundai Xcent SX 2016 model with less than 10K on it. As it is my parent's car and is mostly driven by the driver, I'd be getting everything serviced. The trip would start from Jabalpur (M.P) to Thimphu (Bhutan) to Jabalpur (M.P). An approximate total of 3500Km, plus 300km miscellaneous. I have some questions and would really appreciate if get the answers from the experienced people of this forum. 1. Best route? 2. How many halts? 3. How many days in Bhutan (West)? 4. Luggage Carrier, would it be an issue for a sedan? 5. Luggage Career Vs Roof Box, which is better? 6. IceBox, is it required? That's it for now, sure would have many more questions later. ~Sam
