  1. Hi all, This is the Pune-Bangalore road condition as on 14th Oct 2019. This is a detailed explanation and a long post so kindly read it at your leisure. A stretch of almost 870 kms from Pune. Until Hubli you dont have to fall down under. It is a beautiful highway to drive on. Your patience is taken for a toss from Hubli. Your real journey starts now :p After Hubli, almost close to 150-200 kms, you have to deal with some rough patches of the road because a lot of construction activity is in progress. May be two years down the line it will be the best highway. After the trouble with all the rubble, here comes the best stretch of the highway which is the last two hundred kilometres where you feel you are in heaven. You can easily touch speeds upto 130-140 kmph with ease and it is a 6-Lane highway. In most parts of the highway until Kolhapur or may be little further you will find some shoddy white strips (refer video) which spread across hundred metres before you cross every village. These are nasty, so you may want to speed up a bit; instead of travelling at 40 or 60 kmph, travel at speeds of nearly 80-100 kmph so that you don't feel these jerks. However, be careful of two wheeler and pedestrians crossing the roads in these villages. After Hubli, you may not find too many food options so carry lot of snacks with you. Especially, when you are travelling with kids ensure that you take decent quantity of food. However, here and there you might find small outlets which are just average. But if you are looking for some good options you will have to wait until the last 100 to 130 kilometres stretch towards Bangalore. Last but not the least, as far as possible, avoid driving in the night in this stretch from Hubli because in certain places you will not find diversion symbols near construction areas, you wont see shoulder line markings, lane markings in most of the places thus making it a difficult drive during nights. Both the driver and navigator have to be really careful to ensure that everyone is safe by Praneeth Palakodeti
  2. Road trip : Mumbai to Hyderabad. Route: Mumbai --> Pune --> Solapur --> Akkalkot --> Kalaburgai --> Sedam --> Parigi --> Chevella --> Gachibowli (Hyderabad) Friends - here's a brief synopsis of the Mumbai to Hyderabad drive on 29th April. Needless to say, @Ranger directions and suggestions were spot-on! 👍 Left Mumbai (Powai) at 5am - this was 30 minutes delayed from plan. By 5:45am, covered the 40km stretch to the start of the e-way. Khalapur @ 6am and Talegaon @ 7 am (123 kms from home). Bad traffic on the e-way with lots of heavy vehicles. It was a crawl in the ghats even without a single truck breakdown. exited the e-way at 7:20am. 8:15am & 172 kms - Pune city exit and start of NH 65. Drive through the Pune city section and through 235 kms of NH 65 can be trying because of cross traffic. Lots of nurseries & eateries in this section till Solapur. At 188 kms, Suruchi Restaurant and many mini restaurants dot the area At 200 kms, Vithal Kamat. For the record, we did not eat at either of these restaurants Refuelling of the Yeti done at BPCL bunk @ 358 kms (10:45am) The only point of confusion was when I reached a fork where the signage indicated the left fork going towards Solapur. Enquired with a local and was told that I should be taking the right fork as that was the Solapur bye-pass The road from Solapur to Akkalkot was a single road with no divider for the majority part. A section of it was getting tarred and there was 1 KM that was particularly nasty. Hit the Moroom Akalkot road @ 445 kms at 12:20pm At 1:30pm and 524 kms away from home, entered Kalaburgai/Gulbarga - the land of toor dal. Pulled into Hotel Lumbini Grand (1:45pm and 532 kms) for lunch. Fantastic recommendation, Ranger!! Good food and neat washrooms. Post lunch at 2:45pm, hit SH10 - 2 divider-less lanes. 4pm and 670 kms fromMumbai, entered the state of Telangana. Road changes character and the smooth Karnataka roads transform into rough patches! We pass by Chevella at 5:10pm (690 kms) Finally, 747 kms later and at 6:35pm, we pull into our destination at Srinagar Colony. Overall, a fantastic drive exposing one to newer facts of the Indian landscape. This trip was all the more brilliant thanks to Ranger razor sharp advice and suggestions . Shall update with toll details and a complete log in a few days. Return journey is yet undecided - it could be either Hyderabad-Bangalore-Mumbai or directly back to Hyderabad. Keep you all posted. Till the, ciao!

  4. Hyderabad - November 21st - 2015 All I've been waiting for a week since i had this new 'White-Fang' enter my family is to get it serviced and kick long. Haven't really taken it out on the highways, but I've been completely happy maneuvering it in the city and Now, is the time when i had this recipe ready... My new Hyundai Creta and the Western ghats calling to throw in a good measure on the nature's lap. Having decided to drive through the ghats around Pune, I freezed on to few places adding a flavor of off-roading in relative comfort as i am a total newbie as far as off-roading is concerned. Not knowing if you can call this off-roading or not, but yeah I have put up my experience on different terrains i had come across the drive. Itinerary: Day 1 : Hyderabad - Pune (Pimpiri Chinchwad) Day 2 : Pimpiri - Lonavla - Khandala - Lavasa - Pimpiri Day 3 : Pimpiri - Raigad Torna - Pimpiri Day 4 : Pune - Hyderabad
