  1. We (my son and me) went to Kondaveedu Fort on Jan 13, 2019, in our Baleno. It is approximately 275 km from Hyderabad, and drive time is around 5-1/2 hrs. Route: Hyderabad -> Narketpalli -> Narsaraopet -> Phirangapuram -> Kondaveedu Fort Short Note: Kondaveedu Fort is situated in a beautiful spread of Kondaveedu mountain ranges, located 1700 feet above the sea level and at a distance of 26 kms from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The fort being located on a hill top, the view from this place is awe inspiring. And driving through the newly-laid continuous hairpin bend (almost 20) ghat road is exhilarating to say the least. It is a shame that this beautiful place, once flourished as the capital of Reddy kings, could not fast become a tourist hotspot. It is only in recent years, tourists from across the state are thronging the place and enjoying the scenic beauty of the area. We started from Hyderabad at 5:30 am and reached the fort by 10:30 am. We drove to the top of the hill, spent some time, took some photographs, enjoyed beautiful view of natural scenery and returned back. Unfortunately, we could not get into the fort as renovation work was still going on. Later, we went to Mangalagiri and Kanuka Durga temples and returned back to Hyderabad same day by 7:15 pm. Total trip distance was 635 km. Since Kondaveedu Fort can be reached easily via road and has excellent roads, I would recommend going here for a picnic and returning on the same day. However, if you want to crash, put up in any hotel in Guntur. Although the roads have been maintained, there are not many options for food and drinks around the fort. However, presently renovation work is going on and no tourists are allowed to go to the top of the hill. We were fortunate enough to be allowed.
  2. *All pictures will be posted at the end of the topic* Total Odo was 2600kms. We did it in 3 full days. The initial thought was to go Goa. But I heard that, Munnar temperature is dropping to sub zero and we can experience frost and fog. So I convinced my brother for Munnar road trip. I thought of taking my Mitsubishi Lancer (1999 model, Stock condition). but dont want to take risk in ghat section. My brother owns Hyundai Eon newly bought. Hardly we are 2 and can go without missing any space comfort. Planned to go by 10th of Jan in the early morning 3 Am. But due to my hectic second shift timings, I couldn't had enough sleep. 10th Jan 2019, Thursday Woke up at 7am and took Orr at ghatkesar entry and halted Shamshabad by 9am. Had good breakfast started by 9.30. I have taken the pilot charge and slowly accelerated to 100kmph. we feel the small car Eon is stable at 100kmph for cruising and braking. didnt gave halt anywhere. by 12:30 we skipped kurnool and halted for lunch at Ananthapur by 14:30. The temperature outside is around 30* . felt bit irritating in driving. slowly crossed penukonda and took halt for petrol pump. There I spotted KIA's new sedan. photos will be attached at end. departed from that place and seen KIA's plant for the first time. Its a very large. Realised that our average speed is coming down. then we planned to skip Bangalore city. Google maps didn't shown proper route. but I followed the suggested route by one of our members. ( He is Mr. ***) We have taken branch lane at devanahalli town and heading towards Hoskote. Its a single lane and bad road. full of traffic with loaded trucks. didnt check the time but we reached Hoskote. (Hoskote is on Bangalore- Tirupati highway * Old Madras highway formally). Then next hurdle we have to cross Hosur. Even this is a very busy road. can see lot of cabs and loaded truck. We reached Hosur by 19:00 approx. Thats where we took back our NH7/ 44. Thats full of 6 lane and full of hectic moving traffic. all people are rushing minimum speed of 80kmph. Their all driving shows full of recklessness. all junctions are equipped with blue LED lights blinking in weird way. its very disturbing. We crossed krishnagiri and felt happy after that. All chennai pax diverted completely. Slowly we reached dharmapuri by 20:30. Had Excellent dinner at Arya's bhavan. Proceeded towards Salem. Basically Salem is a very main junction. It holds roads coming from chennai side, bangalore side, coimbatore/ kochi side and kanniyakumar/ Madurai side. All the national highway through salem is like gliding on the city with one single fly over. Awesome roads those are. The advantage of taking NH7/44 is, we no need to divert anywhere. all the road join this highway and divides their own. Now, I feel bit drowsy and heading to Dundigul. Any how I managed 80kmph and used all my energy to reach dindugal. There we have to take right towards Theni/ Munnar. 11th Jan 2019, Friday Almost 00:30 we took right turn towards Theni/ Munnar. we can use same road for Kodaikanal also. I handover steering to my brother and took power-nap. Its a double road without divider. Every junction, there are strong barricades arranged in zigzag way. Somewhere before theni. A police checkpost arrived. police asked us the details and check our luggage, car and car docs. they allowed to pass from there. Later crossing then, ghat started with a strong hairpinbend. The road has fresh tarmac and having cat eyes. Lots of hairpin bends and the elevation taking us drastically up. I feel temperature is coming down for every 2-3 hairpin bends. approx 40-50 curves and easy 20 hairpin bends we crossed, (Watch for fallen stones on the road) and reached kerala border checkpost. through out ghat we got 4G internet (FYI). thats where we had great ride seriously. And from then around 80kms , its a bad road. some places with no road. We can clearly seen the roads are washed out due to land slides. The temperature is really chilling outside. finally we reached Devikulam. At this place I have seen clear sky with infinity stars shining. This will be the best place for night photography. by this time its our own risk. we cannot spot any human presence. those are very remote places during night. by 05:00 we reached munnar. and my brother booked a nice room at pallivasal. its on munnar kochi ghat. Had sleep till 10am and woke up. just took drive aback to munnar and had a very good breakfast at sangeetha restaurant(Pure veg). took drive to Top station. we can spot a big lake with dam and tea plantations while going. the climate was not so good to enjoy and photography. may be I reached in wrong time. Try some farm fresh carrots at stalls. be prepare for parking. as thats a narrow stretch, so can take parking a bit outside. I collected the information about the cold place where the temperatures goes subzero. We are completely tired and driven back to room and had sound sleep very early. 12th Jan 2019, Saturday Woke up in the morning 5 and vacated our room by 5:50. took drive to munnar first and had tea in a bakery. Thats too chilling climate outside. I can approximate 6-7* C. We were actually returning to Hyderabad by covering few places. I took the drive and heading towards Udumalpet. while going out from munnar, I saw people gathered beside a small lake. There I found water is emitting vapor. After getting down from the car, literally my fingers were freezing. I have taken my jacket and camera with me. Spotted frost on grass and photographed few moments.between beautiful sun rise moments started. So I decided to move on from that place. The road again going up from the actual plane. There we crossed so many tea plantations. these are actaully beautifull than top station plantations. the road is bit mixed with bad patches. overall you fell, this what munnar is. U can see a mile stone mentioning about sea level. thats 5500 meters. I missed to take that click. after going some distance, the road slowly takes to you to down. Later you will enter into annamalai wild life reserve. the road is bit narrow. u will follow a valley through out in the right side. be very careful on that road with upcoming traffic. By 9:00, we reached a forest checkpost. Hardly its 15 kms to Udumalpet. then we have to take to left towards Coimbatore. with the help of google maps we skipped coimbatore. reached mettupallyam by 12:00. Had good lunch at Kallar Railway gate. My brother taken the steering for nilagiri ghats. this is bit tough than munnar ghat in traffic and ghat elevation. I didnt planned any ste visits in ooty except chocalates shopping. we continued to masinagudi, thats actually 70kms to get down. there is another route, which can takes u down in just 35kms. unfortunately traffic police not allowing any vehicles. probably its a one way. we crossed mudumalai and bandipur. later halted at nunjangud for sacks. took mysore outer ring road towards bangalaore. he still we can skip bangalore city while coming from mysore side. we can take left at Maddur, towards Kunigal. the road is 2 lane without divider and occational speed brakers. thats awesome road u can drive. After reaching Kunigal, u can find an awesome Mangalore bangalore highway with 4 lane with divider. U can take that road till Nelamangala. after reaching nelamangala, u can take road to dodballapur and then to chikballapur. these two road are with bad patches and will all single road. There we have taken our NH7/ 44 towrds Hyderabad. My brother driven all the way to hyderabad with 3 power naps. 13th Jan 2019, sunday We reached Hyderabad by morning 9:30 safely. All the photos can be accessed through below link.

    Hyderabad to Nagarjuna Sagar

Hi Friends, This is the first travel after joining the group and happened on the suggestion of the group in Whatsapp. I saved a lot of leaves for traveling to the USA this October/November. But due to some reasons, that tour did not materialised and some 13 leaves were left to be utilised in December. First I had availed 3 days leaves from 12th Dec. First day I had attended a marriage engagement at Hyderabad and two more days plus Saturday & Sunday were with me. I wanted to go out only for 2 days and as per the suggestions of the group decided to visit Sagar on 13th & 14th. I made a booking in Tourism Hotel Vijay Vihar at Vijayapuri in the morning before starting. Me and my wife started at 10.10 Hrs from Hyderabad and reached Sagar by 13.00 Hrs with a stop at OOR exit on Sagar road to meet a family friend for 15 Min. and had a late breakfast at a way side hotel. (another 30 Min). Had buffet lunch in tourism hotel and out in car by 14.00 Hrs. My friend in Sagar project arranged for a visit to the dam and inside dam (inspection galleries). Generally visitors are not permitted to go on to earth dam and main dam for security reasons. Mean time local person called me asked us to reach the dam by 15.00 hrs as the staff have gone for lunch. Then we made a round in the hill colony where I had stayed for couple of years in the childhood. With great difficulty I could able to find out the quarters where we had stayed. All the Sagar quarters are now seems to be occupied by locals unauthorised including some top politicians. Quarter where I stayed in childhood We made a round up to the road bridge on Krishna river in front of the dam and came back to Earth Dam. Took permission from special police and entered on to it by 15.00 Hrs. We were asked not stop the car in between and not to click any photos. So we obeyed. Views of either side over the road bridge. When we reached main dam, the security staff received my car number and opened the gate and allowed us over the dam. After speaking to Irrigation AE, we stopped at first tower (Lift). Then we were guided in to the lift and taken to first inspection gallery at 140 Feet Down from top. There is an exit towards spillways side and a ramp which will lead us to first spill way on left bank. We did not carried the camera, but we took some snaps with mobiles. Three more inspection galleries are available below the one we visited. Lift for the same was having some problem and we did not go down further. These galleries are used to check the health of the dam. at every 10 Mtrs tel tale vents area available and the water leakage from these will indicate the internal leakages and the health of the dam. These galleries also used for repairing any leakages (How I do not know). We were told that every day morning staff will inspect all the four galleries each is of a length of a 1000 mtrs. After spending some time inside, we came on to the dam. due to heavy clouds and fog, we could not see the water in dam properly. With great difficulty we could able click some photos. After thanking the irrigation official we went to Ethipothala falls. We were not expecting any water in the falls but there were some. On the way back to hotel we had clicked sunset over the Sagar Dam. We could not get it exactly over the gates area. We came back to hotel before it was too dark and spent the time sitting in the balcony with Sagar backwater view. (Though the water is not visible due to fog) End of day One.

    Hyderbad to Tirupati road trip

Dear All, Apologies for the late reply. I finally completed the trip and it was a great experience. I visited the below locations in span of 6 days and drove 2400 kms. Nallamala Jungle camp Horsley hills Chennakesava temple Sompalam Kadiri Narsimha swamy temple Talakona waterfalls Tirupathi Srikalahasti Day-1 Hyderabad to Nallamala Jungle Camp My planned route is Banglore highway i.e Hyderabad ---> Jadcharla--->Kurnool-->Nandyal--->Nallamala Jungle Camp Pacherla Excellent road conditions. I started my journey at 6:30 am from Hydearabad and reachd Nallama Jungle camp by 10:45 am , with a break in Kurnool for breakfast. For 4000 Rs ( you will get cottage, breakfast,Lunch & Dinner at Nallamala Pacherla) , beware of Monkeys. Safari tour was adventurous but hardly we spot any wild life. Day -2&3 Nallamall Jungle camp to Horsley Hills Planned route Nallamala Jungle Camp --->Rayachoti---> Horsley Hills (1-day break) Roads are very good until Rayachoti. From there to Horsley hills it was pathetic , they are laying new roads and the present condition was worst. Please avoid this road by all means. Horsley hills is a pretty good place to chill down and relax. The weather is pleasant always. Here we had spend two days exploring Horsley hills and neary by places. Chennakesava Temple at Sompalayam is a ancient forgotten temple with unbelievable architecture one should go and watch. We also visite Kadiri Narsimha swamy temple on the way. Day 4 Halt at Tirupati (enroute Talakona Waterfalls) Planned route Horsley Hills--> Talakona waterfalls --> Tirupati Roads are pretty good with speed bumps at some places . Day 5 Tirupati darshan Return Journey Day 6 Tirupati NAM expressway Tirupati--->Srikalahasti-->Nellore-->Kavali-->Ongole-->Nalgonda-->Hyderabad. While coming we took Nellore Kavali NAM express towards Hyderabad. The road condition is Ok with so many toll gates and some huge repairs in between. Somehow I feel and suggest to take Kurnool route to Tirupathi which is really good. Attaching few photos from my tour , please have a look.
  12. Hey Guys, I am planning a road trip from Hyderabad to Leh Ladakh in December. Its 15 day trip which starts from Hyderabad. Can someone help me with the Do's and Dont's. Thanks for the help guys.
  13. After staying abroad for five years. I decided to come back to India for good. Reason for the drive? You will find out soon.. 🙃 Top three places to visit in Chikmagalur: 1. Mullayangiri 2. Baba Budangiri 3. Jehri waterfalls Route 1: Best route from Hyderabad to Chikmagalur Hyderabad --> Kurnool --> Ananthapur --> Doddaballapura --> Visveswarapura--> Hassan --> Chikmagalur Hyderabad to Doddaballapura : Excellent 4-lane toll road Doddaballapura to Visveswarapura : Single road, road condition is average, but helps in avoiding Bangalore traffic. You can skip Banaglore traffic using this bypass. Visveswarapura to Hassan : Excellent 4-lane toll road Hassan to Chikmagalur : Single road, road condition is excellent. It took us around 13 hour to cover this route, while coming back from Chikmagalur to Hyderabad. Route 2: Worst route from Hyderabad to Chikmagalur Hyderabad --> Kurnool --> Ananthapur --> Challakere --> Hiriyur --> Chikmagalur We took this route, while going from Hyderabad to Chikmagalur, just to check the status. It is a bad decision. Roads are very bad once you divert from Ananthapur. There are some mud tracks. Too many diversions. No proper dhabas. No proper fuel options. Avoid this route at any cost. Hyderabad to Chikmagalur four days road trip plan and hotel details: Day 1: Hyderabad to Chikmagalur town Accommodation in Chikmagalur town On day 1, it is better to take accommodation in the Chikmagalur town. Reason? Accommodations are cheap and good in the town. By the time you reach Chikmagalur it will be evening, it is better to stay in town. Most of the sight seeing spots are under 40~50 kilometres from the Chikmagalur town. Accommodation : Name : Hotel Blue Perl Chikmagalur Price : 2.5k per day (3 pax) Hotel Rating : 5/5 New construction Car parking is avilable Rooms are modern and neat Gobibo url Day 2: Chikmagalur town to Mulyangiri Mulyangiri is a must visit place in Chikmagalur, it is the highest peak in Karnataka. It is around 20 kilometres from town. Roads are little tricky but, it is accessible by all cars. Dedicated car parking available 200 steps from the parking, need to some energy to climb. Carry water and don't litter. There is temple at the hill top, with beautiful view. Weather can be spoil sport, some time visibility is almost zero and some times it is clear. Luckily we experienced both Accommodation : Name : Kuteer home stay Price : 14k per day (6 pax) Food : 4k per day (6 pax) (Includes: Bonfire,Lunch, Evening snacks, Dinner and breakfast) Hotel Rating : 4.5/5 Food : Only vegetarian, but the quality is good, would rate 5/5 Location is tough to reach, low GC cars will have tough time. But they have jeep facility (for less experienced drivers better to take jeep and park the car at the parking) Resort is very isolated better to visit only in group. View from the resort is best. They have two villas, each villa can accommodate around 10 members. Staff is very supportive. Carry all the stuff along with you, there are no shops/hotels around the resort. You can carry your own liquor but it is tricky if you get caught at the forest check-post. Forest check-post is present at the entrance of the hill section, they check the cars randomly. For booking you can call the resort owner. You need to do the full/advance payment while booking. Issues? Too many insects, but it is expected when we say in the nature. Day 3 Jahari waterfalls, it is around 2 kilomters from the home stay. You can visit this place in home stay jeep. 4x4 territory, don't attempt in your own car. Since we stay very close to waterfalls, we reached the place early. It is completely empty, not even a single person is present. Baba Budangiri is a must visit place. Once you enter Baba Budangiri road drive till the end point, i.e Manikyadhara waterfalls. There are multiple view points. Accommodation : Same as above Day 4 : Drive from Chikmagalur to Hyderabad. It took us around 13 hours. We started around 9AM and we reached home around 10PM. We also tried the famous Kothakota chicken, food is strictly average. Total trip cost (6 members) Accommodation : 5k(day 1) + 14k(day 2) + 14k(day 3) = 33k Fuel : 11kmpl (1600 kilometres) = 10k Food : 3k(day 1) + 4k (day 2)+ 4k (day 3) + 4k (day 4) = 19k Picture credits: @Ranger
  14. Hyderabad international airport (RGIA) offers you convenient parking facilities. It has around 3000 car parking facilities at different zones. Car parking pricing at Hyderabad airport RGIA(personal cars): Rs.50.00 for first half-an-hour Rs.80 for half an hour to one hour Rs.100.00 for one hour to two hours Rs.40.00 for each subsequent hour or part thereof Rs.300.00 for 24 hours Hyderabad international airport parking fee for two days? For first day it is 300/- and from the second day maximum charge is 200/- (or based on number of hours) So the price for two full days is 500/- Hyderabad international airport parking fee for three days? Price: 700/- Hyderabad international airport parking fee for four days? Price : 900/- Hyderabad international airport parking fee for five days? Price : 1100/- Where is the long term parking area in Hyderabad airport? There is a separate parking space for the long term parking beside Go-Karting. But you can park it any place you want. No one cares at the exit, you just need to pay the amount based on your check-in time. Personally, i would suggest to park in the busy area for better security (close to McDonalds) Less parking fee for the people who came for Go-Karting? You will be charged 40/- for four hours, many people are not aware of this discount. Is it safe to park long term at Hyderabad airport? Last year there are few allegations about the theft of nifty parts like wiper blades, side view mirrors etc No major issues reported so far.
  15. A day to be remembered forever, 2016 is the year that I have joined in this beautiful group since then Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve was always on my bucket list. many attempts planned since then and nearly after two years, I got the chance to go. I don't want to stress more on the routes and other details as there are enough threads regarding the same. rather I would like to share my favourite photos that I have shot in my three days stay and safari at Pangdi and Madnapur gate. never the less I will share with you people some necessary information like stay, safari details, gates, and some knowledge of wildlife that I have gained. Started at 6:00 in the morning from Kompally and reached by 3:00 in the afternoon. remember that no one can help you with the routes. it's always better to contact someone at the resort and ask them to guide you in person. except for Jio, no other sim card is going to work. I stayed at Mahua Tola Resorts, I can say that it is the best in the place. a bit on the higher side, yet friendly staff, manager and good food. we were the only family the three days and never we felt insecure. Manager Shukla is a very nice person, he will come with us to the Safari and make it a very memorable and enjoyable one. Coming to the safari, it's always good to ask the resort people to book. because at the gate I have seen few facing some problems. if it's the resort people, its hassle free. this is personal opinion though. As people say, it's not so easy to spot a tiger. a tiger spotting depends on our luck. a tiger mainly sits just beside or few meters away from us inside the forest, yet not visible most of the time. it's just because of the bamboo trees. Tadoba is full of bamboo trees and that makes it very difficult to spot one even if it near us. you will be tempted by the pugmarks, but not always you'll see a tiger. I was really lucky to spot Tigress Junabai with her cubs on my last day safari with the resort manager Shukla at Madhapur gate. Ultimate sightings I can say. It is my father who spotted her while she was resting under a tree shade few meters away from us covered with bamboo trees. I'm not a pro, yet telling my experience with the camera focusing modes and how I got a perfect focus mode settings by experimenting and with the knowledge I have on focus modes which I have learnt studying few books, articles and discussing it in our WhatsApp group. The device, Sony Alpha A6000 with 55-210mm zoom lens. manual mode, shutter speed around 1/500 and above, ISO range 4000 (thanks to my cameras high ISO range ie, 25600), Aperture F:6.3 Focus Mode: Auto, Focus Area: Wide, Metering Mode: Multi This was the mode that I have shot at first only to get the defocused face of a tiger. Thought "this is over, I'm not going to get any more beautiful photos". thought of the focusing modes and settings I have learnt before and adjusted it again to try my luck. Focus Mode: Auto, Focus Area: Centre, Metering Mode: Spot And then I got some amazing pictures. Used Auto Focus Continues while the subject was moving and I can say that this is the camera for super fast autofocus. never missed a detail while shooting with this in AF-C mode. You can check out the langur monkey and male spotted deer jumping. shot in AF-C mode with shutter sped around 1/1000 or above. couldn't get a zoomed one because of the lens.
  16. Hi All, This is my first travel story in India-Drive. I have been working in Bangalore from the past few years. Recently, I moved back to Hyderabad. My last drive is from Hyderabad to Himalayas with India-Drive team. It is my best and longest I have ever done in my Duster. Surylanka drive I have been to Suryalanka around 10 times, frankly speaking, I lost the count! Last month me and my friend decided to go on a quick weekend getaway. Plan is to start on Saturday morning and come back by Sunday evening. We all know that Suryalanka is overcrowded during weekends. So we constructed a strategy to beat the crowd. Route taken Hyderabad --> Vijaywada --> Suryalanka We took this route since we had accommodation(friend's place) at Vijayawada. Best route from Hyderabad to Suryalanka Hyderabad --> Nalgonda --> Miryalaguda --> Narasaraopet --> Suryalanka I would suggest people to visit Chirala beach along with Suryalanka, we missed out due to time constraint. We started on Saturday around 11AM. We took the famous the Hyderabad-Vijayawada section. This is one of the best section after Hyderabad-Bangalore.(my personal favorite) Maintained steady 110km/hr in my trusted Duster. We reached Suryapet by 2PM and stopped over for lunch at Hotel 7. Hotel 7 is one of the best in terms of Infrastructure/Food/Quality/Maintenance. Suryapet to Vijayawada took us around 2 hours +. Crossing Vijayawada is always pain. Multiple diversions and no proper signs leads to confusion. One of our friend stays in Vijayawada outskirts, we reached his place by 5PM. Decided to call the day off.
  17. How is the road condition from Hyderabad to Mahabaleshwar? Which route is the best?
  18. Trip Details: Hyderabad to Ethipothala Waterfalls via Nagarjuna Sagar Duration: 2 Days Vehicle: dZire Route: Hyderabad > Nagarjuna Sagar > Ethipothala falls This was one of our regular weekend getaways. We plan all of a sudden, start late and end up reaching the place very late as usual. so we had to stay overnight and explore the remainder of the places next day. We started late at around 11 in the morning (4 Guys, 1 Car) and reached Ethipothala waterfalls by 7 PM exploring several places in between and taking lots of breaks for photography, food etc. To reach the destination, you need to take a left turn after approximately 14kms from Nagarjuna Sagar. After taking the left, again you need to drive for approximately 11 km. Dont remember the exact details though. The waterfall is located inside the Haritha resort. We booked accommodation after reaching there. There were approximately 6 rooms (2 AC and 4 Non AC). The rooms were ill maintained (lot of ants, termites and monkeys in the surroundings). The overall look and feel of the location is acceptable but maintenance is on the poorer side because the number of people who prefer to stay there overnight is very low. There is a restaurant inside the resort as well but they close by 9 PM in the night. You will not get any food after that time. After we reached the resort, we got fresh up, ordered food from the restaurant and started exploring the resort and the 11 km stretch. The waterfall is adjacent to the resort but we couldn't see anything in the night but could hear the sound of the water fall. After the brief exploration session, we came back to our rooms, had food and went to sleep in those badly maintained rooms. Woke up the next morning and there were a lot of monkeys making lot of noise in the premises. Explored the resort in the day light along with the water falls. The surroundings of the Waterfalls were scenic. There were few steps to go down the hill and explore but we cannot go near the waterfall as it was being used as a breeding center for crocodiles. We went down the steps after having breakfast in the restaurant and explored those places for some time. It was quite a task to come up those steps in those sunny days. Post the exploration sessions, had Lunch in the restaurant and returned back to Hyderabad by Night. Few Clicks: Random Click on the ORR Haritha Resort Monkey Having a Sip of Tea The breathtaking view of the waterfalls A View Point Few pics taken after going down the steps Parting Shot.. Guess who is giving a pose for the Camera
  19. We did a trip to Nagarjuna Sagar during the month of January. I wanted to share the experience here. Started off on a Saturday morning at around 10AM. Took the usual route to Sagar. Visited a Balaji temple on a small hill enroute. The place was not in the limelight so less crowd and 2 min drive up the hill was exciting. No railing and very steep. The views from the top of the hill were superb. View of The Wonderla from the ORR. Took it from a moving car. The Balaji Temple enroute to Sagar Excellent Views from the Hilltop. The route which leads to the top of the hill is also clearly visible. A Light Moment Stopped for Lunch at Hotel Sidhartha near Boudha Sthupas. Spent some time exploring the place after Lunch. Resumed again for Sagar. The road was nice and very less traffic. Stopped again on the road side to take few pictures of the distant view of the reservoir. Took some photos and started again. Distant View of the reservoir Water Ponds formed by excavations and rains.. Our Trusted Partner Resting on the roadside After reaching Sagar, we came to know that the boating time was over. So wanted to try our luck on the other side of the reservoir. Reached that place and it closed as well. So no boating. Had lunch at the Haritha hotel and started exploring the place near the reservoir. There were few dingy boats operated by some private agency. He charged us about 20rs per head and would take us into the reservoir and the ride will last for about 30 min. They were kind enough to provide us with the life jackets. As kids were there, we asked him not go too far from the shore. We had good time during those 10 min Dingy ride. There were good views during the Sun set in that area.
  20. We did a trip to Warangal and Laknavaram lake during the end of 2017(Dec 30th and 31st). I just want to share the overall experience in the forum. This is my first post so please forgive me for any mistakes. This was not a planned trip (We usually do not plan any trips ). We were a total of 9 ppl(7 adults and two kids). We started off with a car(dZire) and a bike(Bullet). We started on a saturday at around 11AM from Hyderabad. We took the ORR from Medchal, got down at the Ghatkesar exit, had Lunch at Vivera on the way. Food was good and Spicy. They had some play area as well for kids. Continued post Lunch to Warangal, Stayed in a hotel named Gayathri Grand near to Railway Station. The Hotel was very good but a bit on the expensive side. We went to Bhadrakali Temple in the evening through the busy and narrow streets of Warangal. As we have not planned any places to visit, we had very bad time in figuring out the places to visit and using google maps to find our way to the destinations. The temple had very less number of people and we had our Darshan freely. After that, we retired back to our hotel rooms. Had dinner in the restaurant and dozed off in the cozy rooms. Got ready by 8AM the next morning, had breakfast and went to 1000 Pillar temple. We used google maps for the way to the temple but somehow google was directing us into a small lane behind the temple. Somehow we figured out the actual route and went inside. The temple was a bit busy being it a sunday. We could not actually visit the 1000 pillar mandapa because of some renovation work being carried out. After visiting the thousand pillar temple, we started off to Laknavarm lake. Here again, if we search for Laknavaram in google maps, it is taking us to a different place. We had to use Laknavaram lake and follow the maps. The route was very good and we cruised off on both the vehicles. There were no much food joints available on the way. Before we reach Mulugu village, google was directing us to a right lane. We took the lane and somehow suspected that it might not be the actual route. Spoke to few locals and got to know about the actual route which is near to Mulugu village. Once we neared the destination, there was a heavy rush and we were not allowed to go inside with our car and were asked to park in a nearby place. This was because of some traffic jam, the officials told. After waiting for about half an hour, we were allowed to start again. There was about 2,5KM of distance to be covered and that was a bit tricky drive because of the heavy traffic and we had to get off the road at regular intervals. The roads were also risky being them on the edge of a hill. Once we reached the destination, there was no proper parking available and people were parking wherever they find some empty area. It was a task for us to park our vehicle so that it will not block anybody else's path. It was already around 1PM in the afternoon. We went near the lake bridge and it was full of tourists. There is a lot of waiting time and we decided to go for a Jungle Safari in the meantime. They charged us Rs.50 per head and took us to the other end of the lake in typical forest kind of a road. The road was full of stoned and potholes. We enjoyed the safari ride. The driver dropped us at the location and went back. We were free to roam until he comes back with another batch. We started exploring the place. Basically the place had a Gate and locks mechanism for the lake. Any excess water in the lake will be allowed a free passage from the gates to the other side. They cleverly built few steps on the other side of the water flow to create a miniature waterfalls effect. It was a nice place and we enjoyed there until the driver came back after about 2 hrs. The views were very good on both sides of the lake. We had to return to hyderabad before midnight for the new years day celebrations and had very less time left now. So we decided to skip visiting the bridge and started back. Returned to our home in hyderabad exactly in the midnight (12:00 Am 31st Dec, 2017) No Pictures available for this trip. We are planning to cover the same place again this weekend and will try to take few pics this time.

Hyderabad to Leh Ladakh Trip 2018

Anyone interested for Leh & Ladakh road trip in Jun 2018 From Hyderabad...?
  23. Hi. I am planning to drive from Mumbai to Srisailam with family. I would be the only driver and so will need night breaks in between. I am confused about the route to take post Solapur. Google map shows 2 routes one via Gulbarga and other via Zaheerabad. Which one is better and a 4 track road with dividers? One friend suggested instead it drive till hubali then to Bellary and then reach Srisailam as the road is good and the total distance might increase only by 150 kms. Please guide. Thanks
