Hyderabad to Western Ghats drive meetup

A great initiative by ID members again. it will be truly a great drive. Among all these Raigad fort looks promising as it is around 130kms from Pune with a travel of 3 to 4 hours. The route is scenic and the fort is in a natural forest reserve making the views breathtaking.

Hyderabad to Coorg - Kodagu Exploration Drive

I confess, i have missed something seriously good. And, it was an India-Drive meet up in Coorg. Awesome photographs coupled with excellent write up makes it even more soothing to read as is the greenery and mist in the snaps. Was abroad for a month and so could'nt make it for this drive. Surely, if you wanderlust guys are planning one in August, then do count me in.

A Mini Travelogue, Hyderabad to Suryalanka Beach.

@sagar. The maintenece is ok. Its basic but clean and the menu is satisfactory. The clinching point is the location from the beach. Its too good and you have the whole beach for yourself especially on early mornings. Safety is also a plus point in this APTDC Resort.

@Pinaki. Just read your travelogue. Now that was a quick one.. Yeah surely, narsaraopet-piduguralla route is scenic but eating options are few. The same scenario was repeated to us in Vijayawada. Had no clue and wasted precious time in asking for directions.

"See" the "Sea" at Chirala from Hyderabad

Crisp Writeup @Pinaki. Was planning this Sea Breeze Resort last year in december. Its the best private property on this coastline owned by a doctor couple. But had to cancel the booking for unforeseen reasons. Chirala and suryalanka are the few beach options which we have close to hyderabad.

Thank you. The road conditions were good while coming back. We came via narsaraopet, piduguralla, chilkaluripet, miryalguda. It goes through towns but manageable. Only grouse is there are no good family friendly eating options on this route. That's why had a late lunch at viveraa.

From there on a it was a straight drive till home via ORR as wanted to avoid evening traffic at Vanasthalipuram, Dilsukhnagar. That just concludes a small well deserved break from Hyderabad. Trip Stats: Total Distance- 758 Kms Mileage 20.2 KMPL .Acc. to MID. Tolls Paid. 600-700 but seriously, I don't remember as I have a FASTAG and it automatically debits once i cross the dedicated lane for it.

So it was. Had Breakfast followed by more pics. Then checked out. Hit the highway and as promised to myself, took a different route via Narsaraopet and joined the national highway after suryapet. Had a Late lunch at Viveraa Hotel.

Finally Sunrise. And the mere mortals were back to work on their daily rides trying to catch some livelihood.

A Mini Travelogue, Hyderabad to Suryalanka Beach.

Evening was spent in relaxing, strolling on the beach, clicking pics and watching India-South Africa ODI. One thing to be noted, the water supplied in the washroom of the resort is sea water. Use with caution. Next morning, got up early to catch the sunrise and what better way to relax on a Monday morning than to walk on the beach with your loved ones. The whole place was so serene and tranquil with not a soul in sight.
  13. This was a trip long pending. Finally found time to tick it off my bucket list in February, 2018 ( 4th and 5th ). Travellers- 5 including my 1 year old daughter. Drive- Swift VXI. Stay- APTDC Suryalanka Beach Resort. Booked it a month in advance to avoid last minute rush. 2700/- per cottage excl. taxes. Started at 5.45 am on Sunday, 4th Feb. from Hyderabad. Went via Vanasthalipuram and reached Suryapet at around 8.30 AM for the best highway restaurant on Hyd-Vjwd highway. 7 Highway restaurant. Hit the road in an hour after a filling heavy breakfast. The upkeep of this place is fantastic with clean washrooms and well maintained parking. Were in Vijayawada by 12.30 Pm and here were stuck for atleast an hour asking directions, searching Google Maps and Rerouting due to the ongoing Flyover Construction on the Highway. Vowed not to return through Vijayawada. Anyway, were out of here by 1.30 and reached the resort by 2.30 pm. Its a well maintained Govt. property with a very strategic, scenic location. The beach is just 100 meters away from the cottage and is family friendly too. Restaurant is okay and serves most of the stuff listed on the menu.

    Best car wash in Hyderbad?

I was there yesterday at K Force Madhapur Branch to get my Swift detailed with additional upholstery detailing. Must say, i'm very impressed with their professional attitude and courteous behaviour. It costed me around 1900/- for the two services but the job done was immaculate. The owner Mr. Ramkrishna is a friend of Mr. Raam Kumar who runs the Miyapur branch. He also shares the passion and enthusiasm for cars as we all do. The place is spacious with an AC lounge for the customers. They use only Meguiars products in all the services which they offer. Attaching a few pics from yesterday's Car cleanup job at Kforce.

Hyderabad to Mahabaleshwar road trip in April 2018

It will take you 13 to 14 hours via zaheerabad, omerga, pandharpur route to reach mahabaleshwar including tolls, bio breaks and food breaks. Rest depends on your driving skills, trip management i.e. keeping maps and directions ready, local on the spot road/traffic conditions, fellow travellers compliance and most importantly the car you are driving. I advise you to start off at 4 am sharp without any delay, hit the ORR. Take muthangi exit for zaheerabad. Have breakfast at numerous dhabas around zaheerabad . Or if you prefer, a brunch at around 10 or 11 at solapur- Vithal Kamat Veg Restaurant. Last 20 kms or so involves ghat roads with incline so get to your stay/resort before sunset.
