    • Few Pictures that I could quickly upload from my mobile, most of them are in my desktop back home and I could not wait to upload these until I upload them!! Temple pics and Laknavaram Lake pics are from two separate trips to Warangal and Laknavaram!   We have stayed at the Laknavaram Lake Resort when we have been there in August 2016. Forest Safari and Island Cottages were not in effect back then! Will do this trip once again, out of the below pics, I love the pic where my little angel is trying to drive a Ford!!
    • Absolutely! but I have specified this because I felt a little difference in my car reacting to Bumps and Potholes with only Nitrogen in Tyres
    • Actually, Nitrogen is 80% Air.
There wont be any problem with the mixture of regular Air and Nitrogen.
I'm mixing nitrogen and air from past 5 years, no issues faced.
Hope this helps. I got this information from a renowned tire distributor.
    • Dear Ranger, That's exactly my wife wants to go. Since we're driving mostly on NH44, not sure whether we can make it in a single drive without break.
    • Nice write up Jagan. Need one suggestion for Laknavaram overnight stay. Is it safe for a family to stay? I mean have you seen any family staying back during 🌃 time at Haritha resort... I was planning to stay in Warangal/HNK rather than near lake. This safari is from Toursim board or from private firm?   Thank you.
    • Dear Admin, Thank you for valuable tip. I was really unaware of this thing. Got a gyan by you and also from Sridhar. Learning is a continuous process!
    • Dear Sridhar, First Big Thanks for your inputs. That's what I did and stayed in 2nd gear. In actual scene, exactly at the hair pin bend another vehicle was coming down.So I applied little brake then move ahead. That's an experience!
    • Welcome on board and Happy Driving MTF!!   As @Ranger said, it all depends on the momentum of your vehicle! if you feel your vehicle is not ready to pull off, ensure to lower your gear further and try to keep yourself under lower gears possible considering you are not putting too much pressure on the engine (Example: if you feel you are able to pull off in 2nd gear, continue staying in 2nd gear instead of further gearing down to 1st). It is always a Big No to use Clutch while Descending!!   I have personally not done this route in the recent past but what I understand from my colleagues who drove down from Hyd - Kasargod and then Kasargod - Wayanad the road conditions are fine, you can easily pull over   I tried Nitrogen very recently, I personally felt the tyres to be very light and the way my car reacting to bumps and potholes is a lot different from how it was when I was using regular Air. Maybe this depends on the Car that you are driving and the Amount of load that you have in your car! I do not see any impact to maintenance of the tyres by using Nitrogen! Just that Nitrogen may keep your tyres a bit cooler than the regular Air in these conditions, again be careful of Nitrogen availability on Highways! We hardly find Nitrogen once we hit the highway!   I agree with @Ranger and our group members on this! Now that you are here with us, you can always go to the respective thread to understand more on route conditions etc.,   Once again, Happy Driving @MTF
    • Thanks Gowtham ... will probably stick to town this time ... during the meet up I should be in as well and can use the experience if ID team folks ...
    • In Chikmagalur, you can find two different types of stays.
You can either stay in town(located at foot hills) or you can stay in hills.   Accommodations in town are dirt cheap, there is one full lane filled with hotels.  We stayed an decent hotel which costed us around 700/- per head, We were around 4 families.  During our last two drives, we stayed in town only, due to budget and  accessibility.    If you don't have budget constraints, Chikmagalur has fantastic resort options.  My personal favorite is Trivik Resorts.
We are planning to have India-Drive meetup at Chikmagalur once the monsoon kicks-in.
    • Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs especially hill descending tips.😁
    • Welcome on board MTF.
      It all depends on momentum.
In hills it will always suggested to stay on the lowest gear possible.   While ascending it helps in keeping your vehicle in the power band.  While descending it helps in engine braking.  Never use clutch while descending, If you use clutch there wont be any engine braking.      Last month I did Hyderabad to Wayanad, roads are very good, you can do it easily without any issue. Instead of Wayanad, I would suggest you to visit Chikmagalur.
          It is just a gimmick.
In theory it has many advantages.
But when it comes to practice, you wont find any difference.      Yeah, roads have improved a lot recently.
Many people are sticking to NH, Instead of Gulbarga route.
    • Excellent photos and travelogue.
Planning the same in June month (next month) Hyderabad-Chikmangalur-Mangalore-Murudeswar-Gokarna.
Have been searching for home-stays at individual places.
      Any suggestions on them?
    • Hello all, This is my first post in the forum. As my status suggest, i'm newbie here☺️ My profile; Total experience behind wheels: less than 1 year Total kms traveled: below 8k (with only 1 long drive ~1600kms i.e; Hyd-Pune-Mumbai-Aurangabad-Nanded-Hyd in Sep 2017) Car owned: Baleno petrol manual transmission. Travellers: Me, better half, 2 kids (10Y, and 5Y)   Before posting as a new topic, i browsed all the topics for the topic to start. My intention is to take expert tips from all expert guys like you.   Kindly bear with me if you find these queries childish, as i can't change stepney by myself!   1. During ascending on ghat road (which i observed on Lonavala ghat road), i drive in 2nd gear. At the hair pin curve, applied full accelarotor, as i felt my vehicle may not move further. Scary experience. Is it normal? Somebody suggest me to use 1st gear for those ascending hair pin curve...   2. I have read lot of experience of driving in Wayanad. With my above experience can I hit the road? Planning this October holidays after getting 3rd service done. My wife drive well if the roads are well mainatained like NH44.    3. Does Nitrogen gas really helps for better maintenance of the tyres?   I will continue post my queries here in this forum, if i get some response as I believe in learning is continuous process until you die! Note: I start exploring the forum very recently. Had i read all the post before my unplanned tour to Mumbai, i would never taken the route of NH65 especially from Omerga to Sholapur😩.   Thank you for your time and valuable inputs.
